Thursday Thoughts (Nov. 26th Edition)
Hi Friends,
It’s Thanksgiving here in the US where many of us normally gather with family, eat a huge meal and do our best to avoid any conversations about politics.
With Covid on the rise it might be a different kind of holiday for you this year. However you are choosing to celebrate I wish you a day of peace and health.
Ideas – Calling all Strong Women!!
Recently I’ve been thinking about the curse of a strong woman. Maybe you’re like me, a woman who is perceived as strong.
You’re a leader at work, in your communities and among your friends. You’re known for getting things done; being able to handle high levels of stress; managing life and everything that it throws at you in a way that tells others “you can handle anything.”
When you’re going through difficult times, people tell you “Oh, you’ll be fine…you’re so strong.”
But every strength becomes a weakness when it’s overdone.
As a strong woman, you may, like me, find it hard to be truly vulnerable, to truly feel your own worth despite all the great stories being told about you, to feel like you truly matter.
And in these fears, you start to control yourself and situations even more which then creates another level of stress that you feel you have to manage…on your own.
I’m doing some research and If you see yourself in what I just wrote, I’d love to chat with you…I want to hear your stories, the things that make being a strong woman great and the things that make it totally suck.
I promise I’m not trying to sell you anything…I want to gather insights for future writings and programs
If this is you and you’re willing to spend 15-20 minutes of your time with me click on this link to schedule a time on my calendar that works for you.
Insight – Steps Toward Self-Acceptance
I’ve coached over 200 people and a universal struggle that almost EVERY person has brought to their coaching sessions at one time or another is an element of:
“I’m not good enough” or “I’m not worthy”
It’s my biggest struggle too.
So, I’ve been diving deep into the research on self-acceptance and self-compassion.
It’s at the core of all that stops us from creating the life, career and relationships we want.
I wrote a blog post on a few of my favorite tactics that I’ve been practicing over the past few years.
Have a read and let me know what you think.
